Bell I + II, 2002

The "Bells" are knee-high, round objects that relate in their form to petrified shells that are to be found in Nova Scotia. I worked with shell forms in recent pieces like "Winged Beings".

Transformed through metal into hollow objects with specific cut out holes, they will be like organs, volumes with a center, bodies that resonate sound through their volume. Through these qualities they will open up for an investigation that relates to our own body, makes us aware of a form that is a void, a container that resonates and relates to ourselves as resonating containers.
