Wings, 2001

"Wings" is again the start of a new series of forms that will be cast in metal. It is made in a size of/for a human being. As a hybrid between a shield and the "winged beings", mounted as armature against a wall, "wings" manifests a physical constraint. Winged in a shield, sheltered as a plate it defies the urge to go beyond; and at the same time, it triggers that desire - serving as a vehicle to do so. It is about the physical reality of a wishful crossing of borders.
